Three going on Thirteen

So I'm a total slacker, I meant to do this yesterday, but didn't get around to it.  Anyway, yesterday was Shelby's 3rd birthday.  She has been so fun and has brought so much happiness to our family.  I remember when I was pregnant with her, we told everyone on Father's day, including Trenton.  He had only been asking for a little sister for a couple years, so when Travis and I finally told him, he said, "I was only kidding!"  Meaning he wasn't ready for a sibling, but as time went by, he decided he wanted a baby brother.  Well finally the time came to found out the sex of the baby and we all were absolutely thrilled to find out we were having a girl.  My due date was January 6th, but because I had to have C-Section, the doctor scheduled her for 12/27/07.  Boy, I should have begged the doctor to let me go longer, this right after Christmas is tough, but truely a blessing.  She has been such a sweet spirit to have in our home.  I don't have any pictures to post at the time, due to my camera being dumb, but I will get some taken with my cell phone.  We are going to have her birthday party on Friday or Saturday this weekend so I'll get some posted.  Any way, here are some things I LOVE about ShElBy!!

S  - Sweet, Sassy, Smile
H - Healthy, Hilarious, Hair Color
E - Elegant, Eye Color, Excellent
L - Loving, Laugh, Little Lady
B - Beautiful, Brilliant, Bossy,
Y - Yummy (I just love giving her kisses)

We love you so much Shelby!!

Thanksgiving

I had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year.  We decided to go to Idaho, a trip way overdue, to visit family.  After an eleven hour trip, we were glad to be there.  The roads were icy in places and because we had a rental car that didn't have snow tires or chains(Duh, its winter), we took it slow.  Well Dad had to work on Thanksgiving, and Jon and Tera were at her parents, so we decided to do Thanksgiving on Friday so everyone could attend.  We ended up leaving Saturday morning :( because of a storm coming in on Sunday, and hit weather in Nevada instead.  Our trip was way too short, especially since I haven't been home in over a year and a half.  Well instead of me griping, I'll post some cute pics to lighten the post!!

Uncle Jonny with his neice and nephew!

Cute little Carter pulling this really funny face for Aunt Hilarie!!

Grandpa giving Trenton a Pellet Gun lesson.

Sweet Cousins, Trenton, Shelby, Kallie and Brookelyn.  Carter was napping.

Grandpa and Grandma with their sweet grandkids.

Jon and Trav looking thru ads.

Hope everyone else had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Yummy Yummy Dinner

So I follow my friend Teauna's Food Blog, From Cupboard to Cupboard, and she is starting these weekend challenges to try some of the recipes she posts, and let me tell you the Ooey Goey Baked Chicken for this weekends challenge is absolutely fabulous.  I followed the recipe, didn't change anything, but then I served mine over a bed of homemade noodles.  It was delicious.  Teauna you are an awesome cook, I look forward to trying many more goodies from your blog.  Please click here to go to her weekend challenge and to follow her blog.  Here is my picture of our dish, very poor lighting, but it was delicious!!!!!

I'm Back!!!

Yeah, I'm back to blogging, hopefully.  I changed my blog address so that some people that I don't want to have access to it, won't find it.  But anyway its a work in progress, while I was messing around with my old one. I lost all my friend's and family's blog addresses, so if I don't have you on my sidebar, please  leave me your blog address.  I am going to work on getting some pictures up from this month's happenings, but other than that, not a whole lot to report.

Anyway, I'm on the computer at the library so can't stay long, but our summer is going well. Hope everyone else's is too. Will hopefully post pictures in the future!!!

Happy ?0th Brithday Albert

Last post of the day, I want to give a shout out to my father in law Albert. Today is his ..., uh 30th Birthday. I'd be in trouble if I said the REAL number. Although I am turning 30 this year, so I am thinking he needs to bump it up to 40 now. Anyway, Happy Birthday Albie!! We hope you have a wonderful day. Thank you for being a great dad to my hubbie, and a good papa to the kids. Thanks for being there when we need you!!!

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a very nice and relaxing Memorial Day Weekend. On Friday night was our awesome Thunderstorm that caused us to not have power from about 7:30pm to 2:15am. I have to say not having power in the house for an evening was very peaceful. We enjoyed the beautiful sky and once it got dark we lit the oil lantern and sat in the living room playing games and then reading The Friend. I don't think Shelby enjoyed the darkness so much but once she went to bed she was out.

Saturday we decided to go up to Lake Tahoe with Trav's parents to enjoy the sunshine. We rode in the jeep up there and I have to say that I won't enjoy riding in the car up there again. It was beautiful to ride in the open jeep very refreshing. We went to one of the beaches up there and enjoyed the sun, sand and very cold water. I have to laugh because the dirt didn't bother Shelby when we were preparing the garden, well one day, she wanted to play in the mud puddle so she went walking through it and got stuck, so I helped her walk out of it, but one of her shoes were stuck in the mud so when she walked out, she walked out of the shoe and into the mud and talk about freaking out. She went balistic because there was mud on the bottom of her foot and since then she has been very leary of touching the dirt or in this case the sand. Here is a video of her trying to get up but not wanting to touch the sand.
The water was really cold that day, but it was nice because it wasn't too hot outside. Trenton didn't go out very far because it was cold, but he had fun. Shelby didn't want anything to do with the water, until I was holding her over it and then she was splashing down at it. And for being Memorial Weekend it wasn't as busy as we thought it would be. I'm ready to go up there again for family fun. Enjoy the pictures.
Whoa, look at that belly!!!

Go Trenton!!

We covered Trenton with sand. No help from Shelby of course.

And last but not least, here is a picture of Trenton in the backyard. He is my little patriotic man. He has been learning America, The Beautiful at school and sings it pretty darn well. He was shocked when I showed him it was in the hymn book. But in addition to that song, he loves Lee Greenwood's, God Bless the USA, he has been memorizing that song since last October when he cousin Tylor graduated Boot Camp, he listens to it on his little MP3 player and belts it out. So we were in the backyard and he wanted to play with his flag from his room and I took this cute picture. I absolute love this little boy. He definitely gives me my heartache at times, but he is the best little guy a mom could ask for.
